Music Special Interest Council ~ Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers' Association
All MUN Music Education students are encouraged to join the NL Music Special Interest Council (NLMSIC) - which includes membership in the Canadian Music Educators' Association. NLMSIC regularly offers workshops, and ongoing online support and our students are able to enjoy and benefit from the advice and collective wisdom of Newfoundland and Labrador's wide array of excellent music educators.

Shallaway Youth Choirs
Shallaway Youth Choirs is one of Newfoundland and Labrador's pre-eminent ensembles for young musicians. MUN Music Education students are always welcome to attend rehearsals as observers and frequently are offered opportunities to learn with and from the community and choral leadership skills of Shallaway teachers.

The Singing Network's Directors each lead classes in MUN's Music Education programs.
Numerous opportunities for collaboration as student leaders and assistants are provided through such enterprises as the International Symposia on Singing and Song and other offerings that are hosted and promoted by The Singing Network.

Community Music Education in Coastal Labrador
Work-in-progress. -This is a SHHRC-funded project to assist Inuit leaders in Nain, Makkovik and Hopedale on the Labrador Coast in continuing the tradition of organ playing and singing in the Moravian Churches of those communities.
The Lullaby Project-NL
The Lullaby Project-NL - The Lullaby Project-NL provides an opportunity to create spaces for positive human interaction and healing through song-creation and sharing of life stories with others. Lullaby Project-NL partnerships contribute to a positive holistic maternal-child healthcare vision and process of healing and well-being for all who are caregivers of children--in all circumstances in life. Students in music education may be invited to assist in offering Lullaby Project-NL programs in such places as the Clarenville Correctional Centre for Women; Iris Kirby House / O'Shaungessy House and/or Stella's Circle.
L'Arche Avalon
Music Education students are invited to assist in leading with monthly community Jam Circles sponsored by the L'Arche Avalon community.
